On Friday, June 14th St. Maarten Sotheby’s International Realty hosted an Art Exhibition featuring the work of Anna Reed. Anna’s recent work post-Hurricane Irma, as well as her work from previous years, was featured at the exhibit.

“I had started painting again after a long respite in early 2017 but on September 6 2017 our little island of St. Martin, was devastated by the monstrous Hurricane Irma. It was heartbreaking to see the devastation and I looked at my paintings to remember how beautiful my Flamboyant tree had once been. But just days after this terrible event I watched as all the new shoots and bright green leaves started to reappear, brightening the brown and grey landscape and I started painting again…
My work is my way of expressing my gratitude to you, my plant friends, for helping me to keep my sanity during a very difficult time. You are the source of my inspiration and I am eternally grateful to you. Thank you to the Divine Mother & Father for our beautiful Earth. Please forgive all those who trespass against you…”
If you would like to purchase any of Anna’s paintings, the originals on paper and canvas, are for sale or prints can be ordered. The prints are Giclee prints, printed on acid -free paper in limited series of fifty. Prices start at $195 for a print (40 x 54 cm approx.) Vector work can be printed on a large format printer.
